North-South Forum
Water diplomacy: transboundary rivers and international politics

The fourth North-South Forum,
jointly organised by the North-South Centre of the ETH Zurich, the
NCCR North-South and the Commission for Research Partnerships
with Developing Countries (KFPE) focued on the opportunities and pitfalls
of “water diplomacy”, concentrating on international rivers in the
Global South, particularly in the Horn of Africa and Central Asia. Representatives from international NGOs, the natural and the social sciences, and the diplomatic sector have presented and discussed their experiences, views, and expectations regarding the potential of international politics in connection with transboundary rivers.
