The North-South Centre as competence centre is only partially involved in teaching. One example is our annual colloquium on selected aspects of sustainable development.

Summer school

In 2010, we additionally organised the ETHiopia Urban Laboratory Summer School together with ETH Sustainability, the ETH Department of Architecture, and the Ethiopian Institute of Architecture, Building Construction and City Development (EiABC).

Development-relevant postgraduate and advanced studies at the ETH Zurich

At the ETH Zurich, two postgraduate studies cover North-South topics: the Master of Advanced Studies in Sustainable Water Resources at the Department of Civil, Environmental and Geomatic Engineering (D-BAUG), as well as the Master of Advanced Studies in Development and Cooperation (in German) at NADEL, Department of Humanities, Social and Political Sciences (D-GESS).

Development-relevant teaching at the ETH Zurich

Teaching at the ETH Zurich lies in the responsibility of the individual departments. They develop and approve the curricula. Most of our members integrate their experiences in developing countries in their curriculum at the Bachelor or Master level. The full teaching programme is available in the course catalogue on the ETH website.
